to London History, a new quarterly magazine currently being planned
to commence publication later this year, devoted to the illustrious
and notorious past of the most interesting city on earth . . . its
history, people and places. In London History you will find beautifully
illustrated articles covering the whole spectrum of London's rich
past: Social history; Accounts of historical events of both national
and local significance; Surveys of interesting buildings and interiors;
Investigations into buildings which no longer exist; Biographies of
Londoners, both famous and lesser known; Company histories; Short
stories; Analyses of historical documents and old paintings, prints
and photos; Reprints of articles from old London journals; The origins
of streets and districts . . .
London History is also deeply concerned with the present and will regularly publish articles covering topical issues, demonstrating their links with the past and bringing you the latest news on development proposals and threatened buildings. L.H. will present archaeological updates on the latest finds and surveys, review the latest books and exhibitions and supply details of relevant societies and local history groups. Plus interviews, tips for explorers, researchers and collectors, letters pages, notes and queries, offers and competitions . . . It is our intention that London History will become a forum for everyone interested in discovering more about the past of this wonderful city.
